In this video I’m talking about some ridiculous things I’ve seen people say about Evercade . I grabbed an Evercade VS back in January. The Evercade VS is a console that has really surprised me . I initially didn’t think I would enjoy the VS as much as I have . I figured I’d grab the system , get a few games I liked and that would be that. The Evercade eco system is great for a huge variety of gamers . It’s perfect for people who are just getting into retro gaming . The Evercade and Evercade VS both offer a lot to people who just want a simple system with affordable, accessible and collectible games. Evercade is also great for people who have become disgusted with the current game collecting scene . There are people spending over twice the money on games from all these limited print companies like Limited Run Games , filling shelves with countless games of varying qualities . This isn’t really a problem in the Evercade scene since at the time of this writing there is only 26 games . If you are huge fan of compilations or even mini consoles, the Evercade and Evercade VS do a really nice job of filling this need . I personally hope these games don’t climb in value and stay affordable because for me this isn’t about buying games in the hopes that they’ll become expensive but I just want to buy and play games that are fun and affordable. For me the Evercade VS is a great way to play old favorites and helped me discover indie games I may have not taken a 2nd look at because a lot of indie games get lost in endless online stores such as the Nintendo Switch eShop, Steam , itch dot io , etc . Evercade VS is a great retro gaming 4 player system that may not be perfect but is doing a lot of things right. The Evercade has been around since 2020 so I found it strange when I came across people who seemed downright angry about it recently. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the Intellivision Amico is nearly dead ( the writing has been on the wall for the last year) so people are looking for something else to focus their attention on. The Evercade is not at all like the Intellivision Amico. It’s designed to serve retro gamers and indie game fans , not non-gamers. The Evercade VS definitely is marketed toward people with a nostalgia for putting carts in a front loading system like the NES , but it also has a ton of modern conveniences like save states that save on the Evercade cartridge
The Blaze Evercade represents everything that is good about retro gaming and I like how it combines some of the best elements of digital and physical gaming . I like how it gives people access to legally purchase old favorites but also helps bring attention to small indie and homebrew devs .
If you read this entire description , you’re an awesome person , and I thank you
