Attack of the Sega Genesis Sequels!
September 22, 2020 Attack of the Sega Genesis Sequels!
Here we look at some sequels that landed on the Genesis during its run. These series didn’t always start on the Genesis, but they went on to become a part of its prolific library.

Episode Notes:
1. Ayrton Senna, the driver on the cover of Super Monaco GP II, was killed just a few years after the game was released. He was just 34 years old.
2. Lotus Turbo Challenge was actually part 2 in the overall series of games. The first never came to the Genesis was it was renamed, which of course means that part 2 here is actually part 3.
3. The arcade sequel to Golden Axe, called The Revenge of Death Adder, has never received a home console port. There are upcoming stand alone devices that will carry it, but you still can’t play it on modern consoles.
4. Mortal Kombat II really is a missed opportunity on the Genesis. Had Probe kept the sound effects, intro, and endings, it would have been a great port of the arcade.
5. I don’t recommend even going near any of the Shadow of the Beast games without a guide or help from a walkthrough. They are tedious, frustrating affairs that will test your sanity.
6. This series could go into many more episodes across many systems. Let me know if you’d enjoy that.
7. There’s an error here. Splatterhouse 2 has one ending. It’s part 3 that has multiple endings.
