Beautiful Destruction – Nintendo DS Lite modded to Game Boy Advanced Neon

On Twitter, I recently stumbled upon a slew of images of what at first appeared to be broken Nintendo DS handhelds.  My first reaction was “WHO WOULD ABUSE THEIR PRECIOUS DS LIKE THIS!”.  But, after a moment, I realized that they had made their Nintendo DS Lite even more magnificent than when it started.

Joe Bleeps is retrogaming enthusiest who specializes in Game Boy modding, chiptunes and other tech related fun. In these photos you can see where he has reimagined the DS Lite into what he calls a “Game Boy Macro” or the “Neon Advance”.  If you have a DS, you know that it can play Game Boy Advance (GBA) games through the bottom port and since GBA games only need one screen, that extra DS screen isn’t needed.  Instead of keeping it for a cover, he is removing it and adding a ‘neon’ like light bar across the top making for a stunning handheld GBA.
