Did you know there was a lost dungeon in Ocarina of Time?

YouTuber SwankyBox has put together a video that showcases a lost dungeon level in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64! This was done with files retrieved from the recent cache of Nintendo data that hit the web.

As he explains in the video, it isn’t an exact replica of what was implemented way back in the day, but rather a recreation using what assets they could find and the existing game engine. That said, this is an amazing peek back at things that only existed to us in a few random screenshots in magazines (if you were lucky enough to see them).

It isn’t a complete picture of what was planned for this dungeon, or if it was even ever intended to be a final dungeon. For all we know, this could have just been a test area for developers early in the building of the game. But, it was a lot of fun to watch!
