One of Dr Disrespect’s biggest claims is that he is the consecutive winner of the Blockbuster World Video Game Championships in 1993 and 1994. The Blockbuster championships were a real competition that I actually participated in. Players competed in 3 weeks of preliminary rounds on SNES or Genesis, and store champions were flown out to compete in the finals.

Although Dr Disrespect did not really win the competition, as it’s just a gag for the character, one of the real winners, Mark Guinane, has taken issue with The Doc’s claims.

In this video, I look at an overview of both Blockbuster World Championships and the clash between Mark and Dr Disrespect.
