Hand-Drawn Metroid Game Guide

Phillip Summers (or @heyphilsummers on Twitter) briefly teased us with his hand-drawn game guide for the original NES Metroid. The tweet was active only for a small period, which was a wonderful chance to see the work he put into this guide. Sadly, due to outside forces, these guides will likely never see the intended light of day.

Fortunately, as you can see above, the guide is archived for viewing and downloading.

Summary of what the project was:

The games getting guides are Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, and a combined guide for both Contra and Ninja Gaiden. All of them will include a range of guide-type-stuff, like helpful walkthroughs, maps, tips, and art, as well as unique looks at the game experiences told through diary entries from the characters and storybook-style narratives that will help you see the games in a new light.
