Sonic Mania Saturn (aka. Sonic Mania: Saturn Edition) is a Mod Pack created by SeagullMoe.

Ever wondered what Sonic Mania would look like as a Sega Saturn game? Well, this is a pack that compiles multiple mods that aims to make Sonic Mania look, sound, feel and play like a true Sega Saturn game!

= HUD and UI changes =
☉ Each menu has now different colors inspired by the checkerboard backgrounds of the menus in games like Sonic R and Sonic Jam!
☉ The in-game HUD has been changed to resemble Sonic Xtreme, Sonic R and one of the Sonic Adventure prototypes!
☉ Button prompts have been changed to resemble the japanese (or dark) Sega Saturn controller buttons, no matter what controller you’re using.
☉ The game has a new custom intro featuring the Sega Saturn japanese intro, the classic Sega chant and Sonic Jam’s Sonic Team intro!
☉ All of the game’s cutscenes have been compressed down to the Saturn’s internal resolution.
☉ The game is technically now called Sonic Mania Saturn instead of Mania Plus, even the Encore Mode is now called Saturn Mode.

= Audio changes (Optional) =
☉ MOST (not all of them yet) sound effects have been changed and the new ones have been imported from Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Jam and Sonic R, this is where it all started and you can get this mod separately.
☉ Every song in the game has been replaced by Sonic songs from the Saturn era! With the exceptions of some songs from the Nights, Sonic Adventure, Gems Collection and the OVA. Full list is available on the mod page description.

= Character Palette Changes =
All of the playable characters now have new color palettes, mostly inspired by Sonic R, so now Sonic has a purple shaded tint of blue, Tails is almost completely orange, Knuckles is a very powerful tone of red, same with Mighty, and Ray has been made more orange as well! They have their own new Super palettes as well.

= Physics Changes (Optional) =
Physics were inspired to be more akin to… Sonic R! Stuff like having more acceleration on Tails or having a Knuckles that is almost as fast as Sonic always seemed like a really cool idea, so it was made to a reality! The changes aren’t THAT big but believed they really enhance the multiple character experience! A chart with bios and stats for each character is available on the mod page description.

Pretty interesting mod pack to show off here, and on top of that, I think this might be the first time I’ve gone through “Saturn Mode” (Encore Mode) start to finish. One thing I do want to mention in regards to one of the recommended mods, the 4:3 Support to be exact, I was having sort of a hard time getting it to work so I ended up playing with the default size here.

By the way, the physics might be the most fun part about this mod pack. Ray as a top example, feels like he’s OP especially in his super form.
