Switch Online – The Legend of Zelda “Easy Mode”?October 11, 2018
If you are a subscriber to Nintendo’s Switch Online service, you may have received a new surprise today.
In an effort to make The Legend of Zelda a bit more accessible (less hard), Nintendo released a slightly modified version of the game, called “The Legend of Zelda – Living the life of luxury!”. In the game select interface, the game is marked with a “Special” tag to identify that it is a modified version of the game.
What this amounts to is a “souped-up” version of the game that makes entry into the world of Hyrule a little less daunting. You begin the game with rupees and all equipment, including the White Sword, Magical Shield, the Blue Ring and the Power Bracelet.
The core ROM of the game seems unmodified, this amounts to a special save file being included from the start. The game is the same overall, the changes just allow an easier time for those new to the original classic game. This also won’t be the last ‘modified’ game with special save files, according to a press release from Nintendo.
