#wedNESday Post: Final Fantasy
May 23, 2018For this #wedNESday here is my copy of Final Fantasy from when I was a kid! It even still has my last play through saved, which is amazing… I thought for sure the battery would be dead at this point. #retrogaming #wpugamers #nes #nintendo pic.twitter.com/EJ497tpuuO

For this #wedNESday, I am showcasing one of my original copies of Final Fantasy for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Amazingly enough, the game’s battery still appears to work after nearly 30 years and my last play through still is saved! I was certain that I was going to load up the game and find no save and need to crack this open for a battery replacement procedure.
Final Fantasy was one of the first real RPGs that I ever played. It was an eye opening experience, the sheer magnitude of the quest, the size of the world, the amount of different enemies, it was all so exciting. It set me up for a lifetime love of RPG style games, with many of the later Final Fantasy games becoming some of my favorites.
